PURCHASE SHUTTLE BUS PASS
SHUTTLE BUS PASSES: We are strongly encouraging participants to utilize the buses rather than driving. Participants can ride the buses for no charge using thier race BIB for a bus pass. Friends, Family, and Fans will pay a small fee for a Shuttle Bus Pass which must be purchased online in advance of the event. Shuttle Bus Passes will be good for the entire event day and will be available for pickup at the Expo.
BUS CAPACITY: Buses will follow the schedule outlined below pending traffic delays. Each bus has a (44 to 47) person seating capacity and will be filled on a first come first serve basis with participants having priority over guests. There will be a total of four (4) buses running on Saturday morning.
ROAD CLOSURE: Access to closed portions of the course will be limited to official event vehicles only. There will be very limited road closure restricted primarily to the marathon start and finish areas. Participants, Friends, and Family will be able to drive on Deerfield Road, but expect delys as one lane of the road will be closed to vehicles from Hill City to Burnt Fork Road. Deerfield Road will give you periodic access to the Mickelson Trail to drop off particpants, volunteer at aide stations, or cheer on runners.
PARKING: Parking at both Mt Rushmore National Memorial and Crazy Horse Memorial will be available. Shuttles from the finish to both starts will run approximately every half hour starting at 10 am. No parking will be allowed in the 1880 Train lot or on the Westside of Railroad Avenue next to the 1880 Train lot. Please utilize the City Lot on Eastside of Railroad Avenue, Tracy Park, HIll City High School, and street parking will be available throughout the downtown area. Parking will also be available at Palmer Gulch Lodge/ Mt Rushmore KOA.
SCHEDULE: Multiple buses will be running event morning @ regular time intervals following the pre-determined route. Remember there is a limited capacity on the school buses (44 max capacity) which will be driving you to the start lines. If you plan on riding the buses to the start be sure to catch an early bus do not wait until the last minute because there is a chance the buses will be full and you will not make it in time. Bus service will be provided from 1880 Train finish line to relay exchange points for participants, but relay teams are encouraged to provide their own transportation. Multiple Buses will drop off and pickup on the route outlined below. Buses will also pickup participants from Host Hotels and return them to the post party. BUS SCHEDULE ROUTES AND TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO MINOR CHANGES, BUT WILL BE FINALIZED AND AVAILABLE AT PACKET PICKUP. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST BUS YOU WILL RUN THE RISK OF MISSING THE START OF YOUR RACE IF THE BUS IS FULL .
